Elliptical treadmills are quickly gaining popularity in health clubs across the country. These new and unique machines offer a low impact very efficient workout. However just getting on one and running through the motions will help you burn some calories but if you want maximum fat burning from your elliptical workouts you need to follow some proven elliptical workout tips.

Stretch Before Your Workout-Nothing will stop your fitness goals faster then an injury. Stretching helps to eliminate the potential of injury by warming up your muscles and getting it ready to exercise. Some common areas to stretch are your hamstrings, quadriceps and inner and outer thighs.

Vary Your Speed- Running at one constant speed is great exercise but to really shock your body and get in shape faster you should change it up a little bit. Use Different Stride Lengths-Many of today's elliptical machines have the option of adjusting the stride length of the machine. This design was really to let the machine be used by a wide variety of people. But you can also use it to work your body in new and different ways. To do this just never use the same stride two workouts in a row, or better yet change strides in the middle of your workout to really mix it up.

Condition Your Upper Body- Most modern elliptical's have incorporated levers into the machines that will work your upper body. Consistent use of these levers will help you build a stronger core as well as stronger back, shoulders and arms.
